About this role

Design Specialist I (BAS) Full Time Phoenix, AZ, US The Project Manager leads projects from pre-booking through closeout, overseeing scope, schedules, budgets, risk management, and customer communication to ensure successful delivery. This role coordinates internal teams and subcontractors, manages forecasting and billing, controls change orders, and drives quality execution while maintaining strong client relationships and financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret project documents, estimate, and other information as available to select the proper equipment to achieve the scope of work required in the most economical and functional manner
  • Provide support to Bosch Building Technologies other contractors to solve building operating issues that go beyond the controls operation
  • Recommend technical solutions to sales and operations.
  • Constantly research outside purchase products
  • Provide detailed sequence of operations
  • Design Controls projects to meet scope of work and budget as defined by contract documents and sales estimate ensuring equipment compatibility
  • Accurately forecast necessary labor required to engineer a complete project and track this over time to achieve budget and forecast goals
  • Provide Visio labor and direction as required to complete submittals and other engineered drawings accurately and professionally

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience maintaining or contributing to internal standards, libraries, or best practices for system design and engineering
  • Background in both design and ongoing support/service engineering for installed building systems
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in the BAS field can supersede a degree
  • Military training, on-the-job training programs, or other equivalent technical experience, as determined by local management
  • Understanding of HVAC operations, particularly within commercial or industrial facilities
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in HVAC, building automation
  • Experience with Visio

Environment

Proficiency in basic computer systems, including the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills on a high level and across teams

Physical Demands Must be able to effectively communicate in English, (ie see, hear, speak and write clearly) in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment Sitting, standing, walking in office environments and construction sites The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet) Working Conditions The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated
