About this role

About Lumafield: Lumafield was founded in 2019 to upgrade manufacturing. Engineers with deep experience across the product development cycle, frustrated by the cost and complexity of modern manufacturing, decided to upgrade it.

Lumafield offers unprecedented visibility into products and AI-driven tools to revolutionize the creation, manufacturing, and use of complex products.

Responsibilities

  • Align technical objectives with business deliverables in collaboration with product managers and engineering leadership
  • Implement highly parallelized large dataset processing tasks using Python, Django, and Celery
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Be hands-on, building regularly
  • Incorporate cutting edge algorithms into production codebases in collaboration with the research and algorithms team
  • Design for and deploy code to the AWS environment leveraging EKS, S3, CloudFront, and other AWS technologies
  • Use Python, Django, and Django Rest Framework (DRF) to implement cloud backend APIs
  • About you

Required Skills & Experience

  • Engineers with deep experience across the product development cycle, frustrated by the cost and complexity of modern manufacturing, decided to upgrade it
  • Experience with Linux server administration, network troubleshooting, docker deployments, and productionizing systems
  • Bonus points for: Experience with Agile Development practices
  • Experience with large dataset processing using numpy
  • 2 years of experience with Python in a production backend setting using major web frameworks (Flask, Django, FastAPI, etc.)
  • Experience with image processing pipelines and/or image acquisition
  • Strong team collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with AWS including EKS, S3, CloudFront, or similar

About the role: On Lumafield's Backend team, you work on the core of the cloud platform from REST APIs to massively parallelized data processing pipelines

Build code into Docker containers and deploy to various environments including cloud Kubernetes clusters and on-premises servers

Design for and deploy code to the AWS

leveraging EKS, S3, CloudFront, and other AWS technologies

Incorporate cutting edge algorithms into production codebases in collaboration with the research and algorithms team
