Position Overview
  • Rhino Tool House is building a performance-engineered sales organization where deep product expertise and sharp selling skills drive results. We are seeking a Learning & Development Manager to make Sales Engineers better and faster by equipping them with necessary skills.
  • This role involves owning the training lifecycle for the Sales Engineer team, focusing on onboarding, ramp, and ongoing capability development.
  • The ideal candidate will enjoy creating practical, seller-facing content and coaching programs that directly impact real conversations and closed deals.
What You'll Own
  • Sales Engineer Onboarding & Ramp
    • Design and run certification programs focused on product knowledge, technical application, and sales readiness.
    • Implement capability diagnostics to identify gaps and accelerate ramp.
    • Ensure SEs can confidently demonstrate product knowledge and execute the sales process before independence.
  • Rhino Tool University
    • Lead and build out the core capability accelerator for Sales Engineers.
    • Develop hands-on training content tied to real customer applications and competitive situations.
    • Create a library of product demos and technical specs for SEs to reference.
  • Product, Technical & Sales Skills Training
    • Build programs covering product knowledge, technical specifications, and sales skills.
    • Partner with stakeholders to translate field experience into training content.
    • Deliver coaching programs for new and developing SEs.
  • Performance Measurement
    • Implement systems to connect training outcomes to revenue and deal quality.
    • Track key metrics including ramp time and win rates.
    • Use data to refine training priorities.
  • Learning Systems & Content
    • Own and evolve learning platforms.
    • Build a centralized SE knowledge system.
    • Keep content current as product lines evolve.
What Success Looks Like
  • New Sales Engineers ramp faster and hit the field better prepared.
  • Developing SEs show measurable performance improvement.
  • Product and technical knowledge scores improve across the SE team.
  • Training content is practical, current, and utilized.
  • Clear linkage between training activity and revenue outcomes.
Qualifications
  • 5 years in L&D, sales enablement, or field sales training.
  • Experience designing product knowledge, technical application, and sales skills training content.
  • Strong grasp of how Sales Engineers learn.
  • Ability to translate complex content into actionable learning programs.
  • Experience with LMS or training platforms.
  • Comfortable working in a builder role without a large team.
