Job Overview
  • The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) will lead a nimble, full-spectrum HR team within a critical access hospital 🏥, supporting both clinical and non-clinical operations across the continuum of care.
  • The CHRO will build and sustain talent acquisition, retention, and succession pipelines for nursing, advanced practice, allied health, and corporate roles to deliver an employer-of-choice experience.
  • The role will steward labor relations, ensure employment-law compliance, manage multiple bargaining agreements, and partner with counsel to mitigate risk.
  • Leveraging an enterprise HCM suite, LMS, and compensation modeling tools, the CHRO will elevate data literacy, optimize total rewards, and scale values-based recognition programs that reinforce organizational culture and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the CEO, the CHRO will partner with the C-suite and service-line leaders and brief the Board on people strategy and organizational health.
  • The VP HR will drive relations with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Organizational Development, and Total Rewards.
  • They will drive strategic workforce planning, DEI, leadership development, change management, and advanced HR analytics.
  • The CHRO will align practices with accreditation standards and labor contracts and collaborate closely with clinical leaders to strengthen engagement, reduce turnover, shorten time-to-fill, and expand internal mobility.
  • The Chief Human Resources Officer will also foster a bias-free, psychologically safe culture and resolve complex employee relations discreetly and fairly, using clear metrics and dashboards to track progress.
