The Center for Wellbeing & Happiness provides free wellness programs to Lower East Side community members of all generations and genders. Membership is free to all Lower East Side residents, and there is no charge for any of the classes offered by the Center.

Their free classes focusing on hands-on health solutions truly puts self-love to the test in this fast-paced consumer-driven city. I'm a long time resident here on Avenue D, Jacob Riis to be exact. This Center was desperately needed in the community. Women keep low-income communities running. A fact that needs to be respected. So I certainly hope that that continues to be honored and not hijacked by the patriarchy that is benefiting from the Center's services. Keep your power to yourselves Women. This Center's services has elevated the community into Self-care and self sufficiency. Adhering to hunger, clothing, and especially mental health. It still needs support and progress to completely fulfill its purpose. In the beginning too many young women were there. They've done good work and determination. But they needed multi-generations there to give it fortitude. I see that unfolding now. I'm proud of them. Read More
