While on my trip to Atlanta, I had to pull up to Village Books a black-owned bookstore located in downtown Atlanta and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint. From the second I walked in, the vibe was unmatched. The staff was super friendly not just courteous, but genuinely welcoming. That kind of energy makes all the difference. The selections were on point. They’ve got something for everybody powerful history reads, gripping fiction, romance, fantasy, comics whatever lane you’re in, they’re in it too. Whether you’re trying to feed your mind or get lost in a good story, Village Books has you covered. A whole mood. Nice merch, fire scented candles, cute tote bags — it’s more than just a bookstore, it’s a whole experience. You walk in for a book and leave with much more! If you’re in Atlanta and you haven’t stopped by Village Books yet, you’re missing out. Definitely a 5-star spot. Support Black-owned. Support community. Support good energy. I’ll absolutely be back. It's a wonderful vibe, great customer service and nice looking apparel. Please note the store has a limited selection of books and all book sales are final (no returns). Even so, I walked out with two seemingly good novels (one recommended by the associate) and plenty of reasons to visit again. Read More

What a beautiful addition to this neighborhood! My husband surprised me with a visit here for Valentine’s Day and it was the perfect way to get lost in the minds of some our most prolific Black authors. Brandon provided the warmest welcome and made us feel right at home! As a downtown ATL resident and a lifelong book lover, my heart is beaming knowing this spot is right around the corner from me!
