We had a very good experience with Boston Solar (referred by 2 friends who also had great experiences with them). Our first experience with solar was with another company and it was not good. The salesman keeps pushing us to lease the panels without explaining how the process works and rushes us to sign the contract. (Super glad we did not go with them). On the other hand, Mark with Boston Solar did a very thorough presentation on the whole process (much more involved for the solar company than I’ve imagined), cost, incentive, and any questions we had. We received a very detailed proposal with 3 different options of number of panels to review prior to signing into a contract. The only critique I have for Boston Solar is the assessment step. After decided how many panels to purchase and which roofs to install them on, a technician comes out to assess the house. I wish they would send someone from the actual construction team. So did some pretty extensive research and contacted several solar companies that wanted my business. In the end I selected Boston Solar because they are a local company with 1000's of local installs, their sales rep was fantastic and had a more in depth understanding of how to navigate our local infrastructure, rebates, etc. , and they provide 100% of the installation service and servicing of the system. Once I selected them they assigned me a project manager that has navigated the entire install, inspections and ultimately my 'turn on' with my local electric company. Their installers came yesterday, they were efficient, professional and followed all my direction as to location of pipes etc. and were done in one day. We installed our Boston Solar system in October/November 2023. Our sales consultant, John S., was the best we worked with from any of the companies from whom we requested proposals. Boston Solar pricing was more favorable than other competitors. Our project coordinator, Victoria M, was great to work with, and kept us fully informed through the entire process. The installation crew was quick and clean and courteous. Only recommendation is that they do a quick sweep of the grounds with a magnet pick up at the end of the install, as there were a few sizable fasteners left in the lawn. The system has been up and running for a little more than a month now, and it is producing as advertised. The app provided (to monitor our production and consumption, and to look at individual panel status) is very useful. My mom thinks our house actually looks better now, with solar panels. Ha ha. Update: The panels were enabled one day after the final inspection, and they are all running amazingly so far. Updates: Boston Solar just came and installed the panel today, and their installation team seemed really professional and did a really good job installing the panel. We are still waiting for the final inspection for the official PTO, and see how the panels will actually perform. Will update the review to 5 stars later on if they perform well. // This company doesn't seem to care at all about the customers. Due to their delayed processing, we could potentially lose over $10000 tax credit. They originally promised us that they would get everything done within 4 months when we first paid the $10000 deposit and signed the contract with them. 6 months later, we still don't see the panel on the roof, and we are not sure if they can still get it done by the end of the year, because of the holiday season and uncertain weather. I just had my installation with Boston Solar- it went perfectly. Chris and his team were communicative, neat and extremely polite. My whole experience thus far has been very positive. Dillon the first person I spoke with was very knowledgeable, and I felt like he was providing information rather than selling me a system.
