I recently completed my second service at MH Tailoring & Alterations. I took an unexpected trip to the East Coast this winter and wanted to wear my Navy-blue peacoat. The shell/exterior of the coat is 80% wool and 20% nylon, which are simple enough fabrics. The lining is 100% nylon, and the filling is 100% polyester. Mammedov Hasan and team did a wonderful job tapering the coat and it was ready for pickup in about four days. Normally I don't ask for service in such a quick turnaround, but I had a memorial service to attend and a flight to catch to the East Coast in fewer than seven days. The coat fits nicely and is not exactly a perfect fit, which is good because I only wear it with a suit, so it's worn over a dress shirt and suit jacket so there is room for the other layers of clothing worn in the winter months.Also, this establishment has a gracious manager. Found ourselves needing to find a great couture tailor/seamstress to help alter a few high-end dresses for an event within six days.Basically, it would require hand-stitching around the hem to ensure the dress was proactively protected against possible fraying of the sheer silk / cotton material.When another seamstress (see previous review) promised the world, then disappeared, we needed to find another referral, and one of our stylist at the studio suggested this quaint shop located in the heart of West Hollywood.They were open thankfully until 7 pm – much later than most tailors – and even at that hour were still incredibly busy with clientele needing suit and dress alterations.Thankfully, there was plenty of parking across the street, in an area that often has no available parking, and waited about 20 minutes- a blessing considering how popular they are!The owner was incredibly gracious, carefully examined the dress, found a few other places that could use the protective stitching, Read More
