Steve came out for a consultation, gave me time to make my decision, and then had the new skylight installed the same week I signed his contract. He answered all my questions both at the consultation and after I got his contract, really making sure I felt confident in his service. He and his worker were done within a few hours of arriving at my house, including checking with me that everything happened as I anticipated. He didn't mark up the price of the skylight unit, which made his quote a little lower than the others I got - I also found other companies harder to get ahold of, and would provide little to no info about their services before coming out for a consultation. Stella Roofing was one of three companies who did of almost 2 dozen inquiries. Not only were they responsive, they were also professional through all stages of the job and very patient. I am a retired hotel executive who can be detail oriented and rather picky. Steve was extremely patient handling a series of questions I had. He pulled no punches and confidently stated he wouldn't be the cheapest bid but also wouldn't be the most expensive. I did feel they would be competent. It took a few weeks to fit me into the schedule and to order materials but the workmen arrived very early one day and had completely and silently removed the old rubber roof while I slept in a bedroom next to the area being re-roofed. I had this done because my insurance company stated that my roof needed repair and that they would not renew me if I did not have the work completed. Steve could have easily made some money from this job but instead he was completely honest and told me that I didn't need any work. The work seems to have been done well (though I don't really know exactly how to evaluate that), but there are a few other things I do know: (1) Communication was efficient and easy, and everything was directly with Steve—the owner—who was always responsive by email, by text, by phone, or in person as needed. (2) Pricing was good, comparing across quotes from several roofers. (3) There was no pushy sales tactics; Steve gave us lots of information we asked for about shingle options and skylight options, but never pushed us either to make more expensive choices or to make decisions quickly. I called Stella Roofing and that same day Steve came by and was up on the roof checking things out. (in the rain) He explained to me what he found and showed me pictures of the conditions the roof was in. He put together an estimate for a new roof and to replace two existing skylights for us. To our Surprise, the estimate was lower than what we thought it would be. A week and a half later Steve's roofing crew was on our roof, removing the old and installing new shingles and two new skylights. All in one Day!! They did a "Great Job" for us, they cleaned up the job site (even came back to check our driveway a day later) We are Very Very Satisfied with Sella Roofing Services.
