I had the iced coffee with house made caramel syrup; it was delicious I had two! I also had the drive - in burger with the smashed cucumber salad and it was a 10/10!!! We have been waiting for our favorite people to open their cafe! We went for breakfast during the soft opening and the food was fantastic. The biscuits are some of the best I have ever had and the unique flavors add such a fun twist to otherwise staple breakfast fare. We came back and had the burgers to go for a quick lunch and they were fabulous! Will be back ASAP! Read More

I was visiting from out of town and absolutely loved this new bakery. The Dabo biscuit is to die for. The way the flavors melded together was really a unique surprise and definitely eleveated the usual breakfast sandwhich. Recommend getting one of the sauces on the side. I had the spiced honey butter. I loved it so much I came back the next day for lunch and had the burger and that was also delicious and the sides were really fresh and flavorful as well. The staff was so welcoming and cheerful. It was clear they were working hard during their soft opening! Will definitely be back when I visit Atlanta again. Read More

Visited March 7, 2026 for breakfast. Very good savory breakfast biscuit sammies selection all of which are delicious. And a nice selection of pastry items too. But their weekend cinnamon roll/sticky buns are to die for. Nice choice of hot and cold latte, chai, tea and coffee drinks. Staff is excellent and their attention to culinary excellence is very evident. If the line at the door is any indicator, Sugar Loaf is a local hit. And folks kept coming in the entire time we were there. Staff was efficient taking orders as well as polite and pleasant. I give Sugar Loaf five stars across the board for the obvious attention to detail, food quality and wonderful culinary exceptionalism. Read More
Had an amazing breakfast at sugar loaf. Delicious biscuit sandwiches, banana bread, and coffee. The owners were super nice too!
The coffee was good, and the buttermilk biscuit was excellent. I wanted to try the Dabo biscuit, but they didn’t have any. Hopefully, they’ll have some on my next visit.

Enjoyed it so much that I forgot to take pictures of the food and drinks! Their breakfast (I got the pastrami egg biscuit sandwich) is impressive, as expected from going to their pop-ups in the past and their homemade chai is one of the best I’ve ever had in my life. The biscuit was fluffy, not dry, and didn’t fall apart while eating the sandwich. The chai is more tea-like than sweet and milky which I appreciate. Expect a fresh, balanced, and developed chai flavor. If you’re more of a coffee drinker, the iced coffee is solid and a must try. All in all, this place offers a unique take on southern / American food, pulling influence from the owners’ Ethiopian and Albanian roots (the Debo biscuit is a standout). Can’t wait to come back and try their lunch menu! Read More

We’ve been fans of Sugar Loaf for years, so we were thrilled to see the café finally open. We’ve already been twice, and it’s been just as wonderful as we hoped. The space is warm and inviting, with beautiful natural light, plenty of tables, and counter seating that adds a little diner charm. The biscuit sandwich was the first thing I ever tried from Sugar Loaf, and it’s still unmatched. I had the chicken sausage, egg, and cheese on a dabo biscuit this time and it may be my new go-to — but the pimento cheese biscuit is just as good. Their house-made chai is fantastic hot or iced. We also stopped in for lunch and tried the drive-in burgers with sides of azifa and smashed cucumbers. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, perfectly cooked, and came out quickly with friendly, attentive service. And don’t leave without pastries. The banana bread is truly special, and the lil’ Nebi sandwiches and chocolate chip salted toffee cookies are standouts. Read More
