This past Tuesday, I went in for a colonoscopy and endoscopy, and I have to give the highest praise to Dr. Sylvia Perez-Hernandez and the entire team at Orlando Health – Horizon West. I didn’t even know this hospital was tucked over there, but from the moment I arrived, I knew I was in the right hands. From registration to pre-op, every nurse was warm, patient, and clear. They explained each step, checked to make sure I understood, and created a space where I felt seen and cared for. They gave me privacy, answered every question, and honored every concern—especially as I shared some past anxieties from a previous procedure. My anesthesiologist was incredibly kind and took the time to truly listen. He reassured me that my comfort mattered and went above and beyond to make sure this experience would be different—and it absolutely was. Then came Dr. Sylvia Perez-Hernandez. The hospital was extremely clean and staff were diligent and attentive. Being able to complete paperwork and check-in online was super beneficial and I think Orlando Health has a great process for that as well! I’m someone who only had 2 short stays in a hospital for the purpose of birthing my two children in the 1990s — until last week -starting on 1/26/2026. Never ending pains on my right side after a few days brought me in to the ER at this hospital and my new hospital experience began. The ER was efficient and awesome with their care and getting blood taken, CT Scan and Ultrasound testing!!! I cannot say enough good things about this hospital!!!!! The food was even very good! The care I received from everyone was only the BEST!!! Emergency gallbladder surgery happened the day after I was admitted from the ER. The entire staff from all the Nurses,Techs,specialists and Doctors are Ridiculiosly Nice and helpful. It was such a caring atmosphere from such a great team.
