He went above and beyond to suggest drum kit options, a lesson book she would be referencing in class, and scheduled us in when we couldn't make it to our regular class time. David's teaching style is very approachable for students, especially younger ones (our daughter is 7). His classes aren't just about learning how to play drums; they are a holistic approach to the appreciation of music! They are an all-encompassing experience of learning how to read music with practical application on a percussive instrument while also giving the student the freedom and space to just rock out and let loose! To say that Rick was a lifesaver for me, would be the biggest understatement ever! Somehow it took me till this point in my life to realize I had always wanted to know how to play piano. I turned to LA Music Teachers for instruction, and here I met Farrah, who is a tremendously lovely, kind, and encouraging instructor. Farrah helped me to meet my goals, and I can now play many new piano pieces from sight. Farrah was also really good at gently guiding me to keep in mind the musicality of my performance while I was struggling to master the technical challenges.
