I've been taking guitar lessons at Bojangles for the past few months and have absolutely loved it! The owners, Shawn and Liz, are incredibly kind and welcoming. Shawn is an amazing teacher, patient, easy-going, and caring. I notice improvement in my skill after almost every lesson. Overall, Bojangles is the perfect environment to learn how to play and I could not recommend it enough!

As an adult student working a full-time job with an unusual schedule, finding guitar lessons available after 7pm was certainly a task until I found Bojangles. They were able to work with me (scheduling my lesson at 7:45p so I'd have plenty of time to get there if Houston traffic was troublesome) with an option of several instructors to choose from. I've been working with Shawn for a good few months now, and I'm extremely happy with the lessons, the atmosphere, and how they have made the music journey fun. Highly recommended!

Earlier today I participated in the Intro to Songwriting Workshop, at the Bojangles Heights location. From the start, on through to the finish of the experience, it was abundantly clear that the Bonjangles school is a wonderful community of teachers who are passionate about helping students (of any age, and of any level of experience) to explore the aspects of music that each student is interested in. They are truly welcoming. I feel like they did a great job in the workshop with engaging with everyone and providing opportunities to contribute. I will gladly take part in future workshops.

I decided to take up guitar as a little New Year’s resolution for myself in 2025. After researching various music schools in the Houston area, I felt drawn to Bojangles as a local business that seemed to really care about their students and their musical growth, while also charging a fair price for lessons. I’ve been taking guitar lessons with Shawn now for about a month and I could not be happier. I can feel myself get better with each passing week and I always feel taken care of at my lessons. They were very flexible with scheduling and cancellations if needed. Bojangles is a great school that truly cares about their students! Highly, highly recommend.

If you have ever, even for a glimmer of a moment, considered taking music lessons, then come to Bojangles. I've been learning here for 2 years. My journey had a great beginning and has only gotten better. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned player, here are reasons you should come to Bojangles: 1. Welcoming atmosphere - Maybe you're timid, maybe you're confident. Maybe you've never picked up an instrument in your life, maybe you know what you're doing. Either way, you will be greeted with kindness and congeniality. Here, there is a feeling of community. You are encouraged to be yourself and guided to lean into your strengths. As with most things in life, you'll get out of your experience what you put into it. Whether you're up for a lot or a little, you will be supported to thrive here if you want to. 2. Well run, local business - There are various options for scheduling and payment and pricing is very reasonable for what you get. The building is easy to find, filled with cool thi

Bojangles Music School in the Heights is fantastic. I don’t even know where to begin. Shawn (who grew up in the Heights) and Liz (the owners) are just awesome, kind, friendly, and engaging. The music studio is super cool. Each room is designed beautifully, their waiting room is comfortable and fun! They have a pool table, an air hockey table, and a TV in case we show up a bit early. But, what stands out the most are the instructors. My son takes guitar lessons with Shawn, and he has learned so much. My daughter takes piano lessons (on a baby grand piano!) with Blake. I could gush over Blake forever. He is an amazing musician himself, sings and plays several instruments. He makes the lessons fun and engaging while also very informative. My daughter has become a budding musician because of him. He also sends a short video note after each lesson so that my daughter knows exactly what to practice. I grew up taking music lessons, and the methodology and technical skills Bojangles teaches is

Bojangles is wonderful. Shawn is a great teacher - funny, patient, and passionate about the craft - everything this 61-year-old newbie could ask. The Heights location is all Heights coolness and the Rockin' Robin location is the best sort of rough around the edges. Both are authentic Houston. Great place, great people.
