Grab some snacks, this is a long one. My daughter’s tensioner needed replacing. A Google search and reviews brought me to S & A. I called to get a quote. Nancy, the lovely lady who runs the front of house, said we don’t normally give prices over the phone without taking a look at the car but if you tell me what the problem is, I’ll call you back with some idea. As promised, she did. A few days closer to my next paycheck, I brought the car in. An Acura’s tensioner is located in the most pain in the _ _ _ location possible. The chief technician, Jose, called to tell me that the repair would take longer than they initially estimated (which was still days earlier than I expected to get it back). I said no problem and asked him to replace 2 other parts (water pump and timing belt) even if they weren’t worn out, because they’re in the same inconvenient location. He said sure but it’s also going to increase labor costs. He told me the new price and I asked him to proceed. I dropped the car of
