About this role

Senior Software Development Engineer San Diego, CA Type: Contract Category: Development

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and debug software for enhancements and new software-intensive systems and products
Integrate modules and libraries across C++, C, and Python with SQLite persistence
Develop maintainable, efficient, reliable, understandable, secure, and fault-tolerant code using object-oriented and functional principles
Collaborate in an Agile Scrum environment with UI/UX, systems, information assurance, and QA teams

Analyze software requirements and hardware compatibility across Linux and Android environments
Implement cross-platform UI using Qt/QML and contribute to embedded and mobile UI development
Apply secure software development practices, including TDD, CI, test automation, and refactoring
Support configuration management and interface requirements for APIs and host systems, including virtualized, containerized, or hardware targets

Required Skills & Experience

Experience Requirements Active Secret DoD security clearance
Excellent coding abilities and extensive experience with C++
Experience structuring software to separate presentation, business logic, and persistence
Experience with Android application platforms and Qt (5+ years preferred) (preferred)

8+ years of experience developing for Linux/Unix operating systems
Experience with CMake and Bash scripting
Proven experience designing and implementing UIs for embedded applications or mobile devices using cross-platform tools and modern UI design
Experience in Scrum or other Agile practices (preferred)
