Team and Role
  • This position is central to Coinbase Institutional's Prime & Markets strategy. You will oversee how our sophisticated products engage institutional clients worldwide, spanning areas such as spot, derivatives, cross-margin, liquidity, and execution workflows.
  • The Markets division includes Coinbase's institutional exchange, derivatives, and execution tools via Prime, encompassing spot, futures, options, and liquidity access.
  • Your collaborations will involve close partnerships with Product, Markets, Sales, Legal, and Communications teams to transform complex technical capabilities into compelling narratives, effective sales strategies, and measurable client engagement across various regulatory environments. This role emphasizes product-first strategies while having a direct influence on revenue generation.
  • You will not only lead current Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies but also help shape the future market approaches for Coinbase Institutional in 2026 and beyond.
  • Our products are trusted by hundreds of institutional clients globally, including hedge funds, asset managers, and market makers operating at scale in both spot and derivatives markets.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Own the Prime × Markets Narrative
    • Define and advance the positioning of Prime and Markets as a cohesive institutional platform. Lead messaging strategies across spot trading, futures, options, cross-margin, execution, and liquidity. Test narratives against real feedback from Sales, Product, Legal, and actual clients to ensure credibility and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead Product-Focused GTMs
    • Act as the designated Product Marketing Manager for major Prime and Markets product launches, including derivatives and cross-margin initiatives. Develop comprehensive GTM strategies that cover product readiness, sales enablement, client communication, and events. Clarify timelines and actions necessary for clients regarding live products and upcoming launches.
  • Drive Sales Enablement for Impact
    • Create effective enablement materials such as talk tracks, FAQs, battlecards, demos, and narratives tailored for clients. Work closely with Sales, STPs, and Coverage to reflect actual client objections, deals, and purchasing behaviors. Simplify processes for the sales team by providing focused and impactful resources.
  • Facilitate Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Serve as a translator among Product, Markets, Prime, Sales, and Leadership. Distill complex technical information into clear, comprehensible formats suitable for institutional clients. Influence the product roadmap and prioritization based on market insights.
  • Elevate Professional Standards in PMM
    • Develop best practices for technical Product Marketing Management within the Institutional team. Shape future approaches to GTMs, product showcases, and launches. Mentor junior PMMs and contribute to enhancing the PMM team.
What We Look For In You:
  • Experience & Background
    • 7+ years of experience in product marketing or related fields (e.g., PMM, product strategy, institutional GTM). Substantial experience with institutional trading, derivatives, or market infrastructure.
  • Deep Domain Expertise
    • Comprehensive understanding of derivatives markets, including futures, options, and execution models. Comfort discussing market liquidity, capital efficiency, risk management, and structure with institutional clients. Fluency in the vernacular of sophisticated trading firms and asset managers.
  • Global & Regulatory Awareness
    • Experience in crafting narratives and GTMs that cater to different regulatory landscapes worldwide. Ability to strike a balance between global consistency and local compliance requirements.
  • Strategic PMM Judgment
    • Expertise in simplifying complex systems into compelling, straightforward messaging. Strong instincts in prioritization, sequencing, and making tough trade-offs. Courage to challenge narratives that lack credibility.
  • High Agency & Ownership
    • Excel in ambiguous environments and take ownership of results, not just tasks. Create structure in undefined areas and drive progress proactively. Balance efficiency with thoroughness.
  • Skilled Cross-Functional Operator
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Sales, Markets, Legal, and Communications teams. Comfort leading initiatives without direct authority while aligning stakeholders. Recognized as a trusted partner for your preparedness and expertise.
  • Clear and Professional Communication
    • Exceptional skills in both written and verbal communication. Capable of briefing leadership, influencing decisions, and representing products externally. Bring a point of view, not just recaps.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in prime brokerage, derivatives platforms, electronic trading, or market infrastructure. Background in traditional finance, crypto-native firms, or both. Previous support experience for institutional sales teams. Familiarity with APIs, trading interfaces, or execution workflows.
