About this role

Hourly Contract position with Alignerr, fully remote, requiring 10-40 hours/week commitment. Design complex engineering problems, author ground-truth solutions, audit technical reasoning, and correct reasoning failures to improve AI models.

Responsibilities

  • Craft advanced challenges in FEA, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, kinematics, thermodynamics, and material science
  • Develop precise technical solutions and benchmark "golden responses" for AI models
  • Review AI outputs for accuracy and compliance with engineering standards
  • Identify and correct logical errors to enhance AI reasoning

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong expertise in solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes
  • Experience in data annotation, technical writing, or evaluation systems
  • Familiarity with AI/ML workflows or large language model evaluation
  • Clear technical communicator with attention to detail
  • Meticulous and precise in reviewing mathematical proofs and physical system constraints
  • Proficiency in engineering software like SolidWorks, ANSYS, or MATLAB
  • Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • No AI experience required
